COSSACK CHILDREN’S ART AWARDS

Our 2024 theme is UNDER THE SEA

Entries are broken down into three age categories (based on applicant’s age as of 30 June 2024); 5-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12-15 years. Spaces are limited and sell out FAST.

Cossack Children’s Art Awards 2024 - Terms and Conditions of Entry

o   All entries should be representative of the theme: Under the Sea;

o   Entries will open at 12pm noon on Monday 6 May 2024 via cossackartawards.com.au and in person at the Red Earth Arts Precinct Box Office.

o   Entry fee is $23 per artwork and is non-refundable;

o   Entries for each category will close once the maximum entries have been received or by 5pm Monday 3 June 2024, whichever comes first. No further entries will be accepted beyond this point;

o   Categories are determined by age. Entrants will need to need to enter the relevant category for their age group (based on their age at 30 June 2024):

-       5-8 years (65 entries available)

-       9-11 years (65 entries available)

-       12-15 years (70 entries available) 

Artwork Drop-Off

o   All works must be delivered directly by entrants or their parents/guardians to the Red Earth Art Precinct Box Office, on Friday 21 June 2024 between 9am to 5pm or Saturday 22 June between 9am to 2pm.

Please note that artworks will not be accepted at the Red Earth Arts Precinct at any time after Saturday 22 June 2024

Artwork Collection

o   Artwork must be collected by entrants or their parents/guardians from the Red Earth Art Precinct Box Office 

Friday 16 August 2024 between 9am – 5pm

Saturday 17 August 2024 between 9am and 2pm 

Monday 19 August 2024 between 9am – 5pm

If artworks are not collected by 5pm Monday 19 August they will be disposed of.

o   Entrants must label their artwork prior to drop-off at the Red Earth Art Precinct Box Office with the Entry Form provided displaying the below information. Failure to do so may result in the artwork not being accepted in the Awards. Please label the back of the frame, (do not write on the back of the canvas)

o   A maximum of 200 artworks will be accepted for the Cossack Children’s Art Awards 2024, with a limited number of entries per category.

o   The category should be based on the child’s age on 30 June 2024;

o   Entries will only be accepted online via the Cossack Art Awards website or in person at the Red Earth Arts Precinct Box Office;

o   Each child can only enter ONE artwork and they must be currently living in the City of Karratha or surrounding regional towns;

o   All entrants must be Australian residents.

o   Upon confirmation of entry, each child will be provided with an approved 30x30cm canvas, collectable from Box Office at Red Earth Arts Precinct, Welcome Road, Karratha WA from 6 May 2024. Please have your entry ticket confirmation with you when you go to collect your canvas. The Red Earth Arts Precinct Box office is open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 2pm;

o   Only artwork displayed on a 30x30xm canvas will be accepted;

o   Cossack Children’s Art Awards are not acquisitive, and artwork will not be listed for sale throughout the exhibition dates; 21 July to 11 August 2024

o   Copyright in all exhibited artworks will remain with the artist. It is a condition of entry that the entrant grants to the City of Karratha the right to freely use, communicate, reproduce, and publish all exhibited works for publicity, promotional and educational purposes associated with the Cossack Art Awards in both digital and print mediums;

o   Intellectual Property: the entrant warrants that they own the intellectual property rights in their submission and that any intellectual property rights and moral rights of a third party have not been infringed. The entrant must obtain the consent of persons featured in their submitted works for all marketing, educational and publicity uses of such works and ensure that additional consents or licences required in respect of names, trademarks, designs, works of art or any other intellectual property depicted in the work are obtained prior to entry;

o   Insurance for artworks whilst in transit is the entrant’s responsibility. Once delivered to the Red Earth Arts Precinct Box Office, they are covered for fire and theft only. Any other insurance will be the responsibility of the entrant;

o   Cossack Children’s Art Awards Artworks will be displayed in the Galbraith Store,  Cossack, WA from Sunday 21 July to Sunday 11 August 2024;

o   A judging panel will determine the winners of each category;

o   Winners will be announced at the Children’s Art Day event which will be held on Sunday 11 August and published on the Cossack Art Awards Facebook Page.  All entrants will be invited to attend this event by email;

o   There will be 3 category winners, 3 x Highly Commended Awards and one Overall Winner of the Cossack Children’s Art Awards 

o   The prizes for the Cossack Children’s Art Awards are:

• $100 for each Category Winner (5-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-15 years)

• $50 for each Highly Commended Award

• The overall Winner $300 plus 50% discount on framing of the work at Dunnart.
