Childrens Awards

In 2020 the City of Karratha introduced the Cossack Children's Art Awards and welcomed it back for 2021. The calibre of work from young Pilbara artists that entered, won or were highly commended was outstanding.

The Cossack Children’s Art Award is divided into three age group categories 5-7, 8-11, 12-15 years. There was a total of 146 entries this year from young artists who depicted the Pilbara’s Flora and Fauna in their own unique way.

The City of Karratha Mayor, Peter long said the incredible young Pilbara artists are a testament to the growth of our region as an artistic hub.

"I would like to congratulate each of our entrants on their little masterpieces and encourage them to keep creating and continue to enter the Cossack Children's Art Awards in the future."

To end the Cossack Art Awards, the Fortescue Metals Group Children's Art Day was well received with over 800 families attending throughout the day to enjoy the participatory workshops and creative activities.

The City looks forward for what the Cossack Art Awards 2022 brings.
