Each year we select three esteemed individuals, and charge them with the arduous task of judging our annual art prize.
This year, in line with our Pilbara only entries, we've trawled the Pilbara and selected three of its finest art professionals up to this task!

It gives us great pleasure to introduce to you our 2020 Cossack Art Awards judges:

Joel Peter Wilson: A wellbeing Coordinator at Karratha Senior High School, Joel's visual art practice is primarily painting that has been extensively exhibited locally and nationally.

Sharmila Wood: With a passion for WA and the Pilbara, internationally published Sharmila has worked with FORM Pilbara since 2012, following art positions held in New Delhi, Los Angeles and Sydney.

Elisa Trifunoski: Currently based in Port Hedland, Elisa leads The Junction Co.'s Artistic Excellence program, specialising in conceptual art, audience engagement, and artistic growth. form the judging panel for this year’s awards.

The winners of 5 categories will be announced at the Cossack Art Awards gala on Saturday, July 18, with the Pilbara Ports Authority People’s Choice awarded at the end of the exhibition.

The exhibition opens to the public on Sunday, July 19 in conjunction with the public program and runs until Sunday, August 9.
